Checkmate

O U T F I T
Tank: Asos, Jumper: Pull and Bear, Jacket: Miss Selfridge, Skort, Necklace, Bag & Heels: Zara.

Today marked my first day back to College after a whole year off and it feels so good to be back. When I first found out I had to take some time off I really thought it was the worst thing that could possibly happen, but now it feels like it was the best thing! I'm so eager to get started again and can't wait to give my final year everything.

Along with being a full-time student, I will be balancing two part-time jobs; my internship with RSVP Magazine as well as continue to work for Pull and Bear at the weekends. It's going to be pretty full-on, and I know I tend to let my blog posts slip when I get busy but I really want to be as consistent as possible. It's going to be a lot but I will be so proud of myself if I can manage to balance it all. At the end of the day, all of this is working towards my end goal of being a fashion journalist so the chaos will be so worth it.

It's starting to get a little cooler these days and I'm enjoying the layering opportunities. I like how the slight edge to this outfit is toned down with a dressy necklace and lady-like handbag. Also, how fab is this background pattern? Love it.

Roar

O U T F I T
Jumper: Pull and Bear, Skirt: River Island, Shoes & Bag: Asos.

It seems that I am determined to begin every blog post with apologies and excuses. I have not posted in what seems like forever but I am steadfast about being more consistent with my updates.

I know this look will be a bit of a divider and not everyone will get it, but it is one of my faves. I picked up this jumper in the Pull and Bear sale, I had ignored it for a long time when suddenly I looked at it with fresh eyes and a styling opportunity arose that I couldn't pass up. I love how the heaviness of the outfit is balanced by the minimalistic shoe. This kind of strappy shoe is all I'm about lately, I love how the continuous cycle of fashion can make you adapt so easily to a style that last year would never have been an option.

This bag is the one that I had previously blogged, and it has been a great addition to my collection. I adore the metallic finish and it is so versatile, definitely a good buy.

You may have noticed that the blog has gotten a bit of a face lift, I never want to stop improving and I felt like it was the right time to up my game a little. I love the finished product and the simplistic nature overall. I especially love my new social icons, I now have an Instagram for the blog so you don't get inundated with pictures of my Goddaughter. I'd love to know what you think of the update.

Blue Swede Sandals

O U T F I T
Tank: Asos, Jeans & Sandals: Zara, Bag: A-Wear, Necklace: Topshop, Watch: Fossil.

I have been absent from the blog for far more longer than I'm comfortable with. When other aspects of my life get hectic, it's so hard to find time for my precious blog. But I can't let it go that long again, I miss it too much!

I was running around the other day and just wanted to be comfortable so I went for my gorge new Zara sandals and a simple tank. I'm shocked that I haven't blogged this bag before. I was on the hunt for a great black satchel for ages and almost bought an expensive one from Topshop that I didn't even really love, but then I saw a woman wearing this beauty and had to ask where she got it. I was so surprised when she said A-Wear it looks so expensive and has the same great chevron detailing on the back too.

I'll be back soon, thanks for reading.

New Day

O U T F I T
Tank: Asos, Skirt: TNFC at Asos, Blazer: H&M, Bag & Shoes: Zara, Necklace: Topshop.

This is my first post since I upgraded my blog photos with my new Lumix GF5. I couldn't be happier with my latest purchase and it has definitely been a long time coming. My iPhone camera skills were sufficient in the beginning but I began to crave more from my outfit posts, and was ready trade in the grainy results.

I chose this particular model because it is known to be 'beginner friendly'. I'm not proud to say that I am certainly a beginner, seen as I have studied Journalism for three years and have had countless photography classes; I'm now kicking myself that I didn't pay more attention. Oh well, maybe now that I have a real interest I can learn more myself.

I adore this outfit, I have been keeping an eye out for a flared skirt like this ever since I stumbled upon this gorge Miu Miu on Pinterest that was way out of my price range. I just about died when I found an almost identical one on Asos shortly after. Speaking of bargains I was so excited when I purchased this Zara bag, it's so pretty my heart can barely stand it. Soon after I noticed a very similar Alexander Wang version, am I on a role or what?

You probably can't tell how in love I am with this outfit by my very grumpy face. I was concentrating so hard on the new camera that I totally forgot to smile! What can I say, I am a rooky.

Day Off

O U T F I T
Shirt & Bag: Pull and Bear, Pants: New Look, Shoes: River Island, Belt & Sunglasses: Asos

I shot this outfit a while back, I shot a different one too but I could never bring myself to post them. None of it seemed good enough anymore, I was no longer excited or inspired. I never want to stop progressing and improving, and so I decided some time ago that I needed to buy a sufficient camera. My iPhone has served me well but it just wasn't cutting it anymore. So, I did my research and started saving and the time as finally come. This is officially my last iPhone outfit post, hurrah!

And just like that, I catch myself constantly thinking about my next post, how I can step outside of my comfort zone with new pieces or re-work some old ones. I cannot wait to start experimenting with photography, I think it can only enhance my outfit posts and the over-all Bonne Chance look.

Stay tuned...

Currently Coveting

One of my favourite things about Asos is that it introduces you to brands that you would otherwise never have thought of. I would never have considered checking out Motel for Spring pieces, but after stumbling upon this beauty I will in future.

This print is a bit of a departure for me, but I love the dropped hemline and the fact that it is not a floral print. I mean, there is nothing ground breaking about floral’s for Spring. It is a little bit cutesie so I am planning on pairing it with a leather jacket and some booties. Come on pay day!

Monochrome

O U T F I T
Shirt: Pull and Bear, Jacket: Warehouse, Jeans: Topshop, Boots: Zara, Necklace & Sunglasses: Asos

I have worn variations of this outfit almost constantly over the last few weeks. I have acquired a vast amount of monochrome separates recently that have quickly become my go-too pieces which results in a never-ending sea of black mixed with sparse drops of neutrals.

This somewhat dreary style faze may have been triggered by my new die-for-can't-live-without boots. I have barely taken them off since I left the Zara store and I definitely think I have found 'the one'. The one perfect pair of ankle boots that stand out yet blend in, comfortable yet stylish, versatile yet unique in their own special way, maybe it's just me who likes to have a love affair with shoes but I am just smitten and couldn't be happier.

These jeans are also my total fave's at the mo', black and gorgeous(as are 90% of my leg-wear collection,leg-wear?)as well as wonderfully comfortable. Wonderful comfort factors being, the seemingly never-ending stretch in the denim which is nothing short of a god-send, teamed with the rips at the knee make for a pair of jeans you could run a marathon in without stopping to hike them back up to your belly-button every two seconds.

My necklace is an oldie but a goodie, the perfect statement piece for any outfit I feel needs a little pick-me-up.

Just Purchased

I just purchased this little gem on Asos and cannot wait for it to arrive. I love metallics for spring and for me, accessories are the perfect way to wear the trend. I am now on the hunt for a pair of metallic pumps too.

This clutch ticks all the boxes for me as I prefer a larger bag, and I love the handy pouch on the front. It looks so sleek and modern; as I added it to my cart I was simultaneously pairing it with endless outfits.

Back To Basics

O U T F I T
Shirt & Coat: Pull and Bear, Pants: River Island, Necklace: Topshop, Bag: Zara, Belt & Shoes: Asos

I wore this outfit recently sans heels for a busy day of pulling clothes around the city for a photo shoot. Dressing for work days as an intern can be a challenge, meeting the line between business and casual is an art in itself but I think I managed it by pulling together a few basics that I already had hanging in my wardrobe.

After a very hectic day I was late home and didn't have time to change, I threw on my new heels and was on my way. Surprisingly the outfit transcended perfectly for a couple of relaxed drinks with friends.

I'm obsessed with this shoe style at the moment, although they are lot more uncomfortable to wear than the beloved platform, I am willing to withstand the pain for these beauties.

Camo And Sparkle

O U T F I T
Jumper: Pull and Bear, Jacket: Pull and Bear, Skirt: Topshop, Tights: Asos, Shoes: New Look, Clutch: River Island.

Hi everyone, I have finally found the time to fit in an outfit post and it feels great to be back to my creative self and continuing to be experimental with fashion.

I have always been slightly hesitant toward the camouflage pattern; it just seemed a bit aggressive. But actually, after some playing around with the idea, I found a way to make it work for me. Adding a short skirt and some sparkle, it is the perfect item to add a little edge to an otherwise 'girly' outfit.

This jumper is one of my new faves too, it's a really nice fit and I love the contrast the sequins bring to any casual outfit. I warn you now; this is not the last you will be seeing of it.

My skirt is the one I had previously blogged about and once I finally got my hands on it, it did not disappoint. I love the uniqueness of the wool fabric and wrap around fit. The slight slit on the side is a great addition too but possibly not the best feature if you want to go without tights.

I wear a lot of tights around this time of year and one trick I have long been a fan of is wearing too pairs at once. It looks so much better if you're going for the really black matt look, not to mention practical at keeping your pins warm.

I have had these booties for a long time now and they have stood the test of time and proven to be one of my most wearable pairs. I also thought they tied in nicely with the military theme I had going on.

Life's A Beach

O U T F I T
Playsuit: Topshop, Bag: Pull and Bear, Hat: Pull and Bear, Sunglasses: Asos, Sandals: Aldo.

In little Corn's defence, this is certainly not the most flattering beach pic I could have taken. As we were walking to a gorgeous little place to have lunch by the beach, I did an impromptu outfit shot and really should have thought it through more. In any case, these shots don't do the Little Corn beaches justice.

Topshop always do great beach cover up's, I picked up this one right before I left for Nicaragua and It was probably the most stylish, comfortable, and wearable pieces I packed. I got countless days out of this baby and it will for sure be a summer staple for the foreseeable holiday future. My hat and bag that I picked up in the Pull and Bear sale were also invaluable for their sheer usefulness alone.

My sandals, although you can't really seem them (sorry about that), are Aldo and they really are one of those magical finds. I got them a couple of years ago and it still amazes me how well they have held up through the sand, ocean, and general holiday wear and tear. The only regret I have is not picking them up in tan as well. I'm continually on the lookout for great basic sandals like these as I'm sure they won't last forever.

My last Nicaraguan blog should be up soon to showcase all of the great things and places I saw in my time there.
